Im going swimming with friends and im on my period?

i started again today. lucky me right.
what should i do?
ive never used tampons. im scared.
does it hurt. im young.........

i asked my mom about using tampons once. and she said she used them once but they hurt so she didnt use them anymore.

you dont HAVE to wear a tampon , though its recommended that you wear something.
When you get in the pool, the cold water will stop the flow of your blood, just like cold water stops any type of blood. Before you get in , wear a pad in your bikini bottoms. (in order for no one to tell you are wearing one, make sure its not one with wings that go around the bottoms.) At one point while you are swimming, you can take off the pad and get right back in.

I do that all the time, lol. And nobody knows , it doesnt feel weird, and you can still have fun in the pool.
