Haha, I didn't! I actually was afraid to, and I ended up just stealing a bunch of her maxi pads and letting her figure out why they were all missing!
Starting your period can be a bit of an awkward time. On one hand, you're proud because you've become a "real woman," whatever that means. On the other hand, you don't really know how to approach people about it, so you just sit there and worry yourself into a fit.
Don't be afraid to just be honest with your mom if you're in this situation. More than likely, she'll want to sit and explain a few things to you, which can be a little embarassing. But it's actually a bonding experience between women. It's weird and makes you feel funny to talk to her, I know. But you just have to get it over with.
