Spotting while on the pill, what can it mean?

I have been spotting the last few days. I have been taking my pill according to directions and have not missed any doses in the last month. I've never had this problem and I am concerned as to what it could mean. Could I be pregnant? Cysts? Please help..

I've been on the pill for several years and have never had this happen to me.

Womens' periods will change during their life, the fact that you are on birth control doesn't change the fact that your body is changing in the background. If you weren't on teh pill, your periods wouldn't be the same as they were before you started taking it. Your natural hormone levels may have changed enough that the hormones in the pills are no longer strong enough to override your body, so you may now need a stronger pill. Talk to your doctor about it.
