i have a gyne operation in a few weeks as i went to see a gyne doctor because ive never been able to have penetrative sex but i freaked myself out when he went ot have a look and he could not put some metal thing up me :'( so now i am having to be put to sleep while they put something inside me, i have never had sex before and does anyone know what this operation is giong to do to me??

will it open me up? will i be sore after??? anybody please help me coz i am soo soo sooo scared........

every woman has a Hymen or a small flap of skin that cover the vagina in your early years until sexual maturity when it is torn or ripped with the first sexual encounter. This often referred to as busting your "cherry" which can cause some minor bleeding which is completely normal. Most often this flap is not completely covering the vaginal opening so a Dr. can still examine you and normal secretions and menstral bleeding can occur without any obstruction. In your case it sounds as if the flap is completely blocking the vaginal opening so the GYN needs to make a break in the Hymen to allow normal things to happen like menstral bleeding and for him to examine the inside of your vagina and to do a pap smear. Remember the Hymen is only a flap of skin, no big deal, it is very thin, so this should not be a big deal. Talk to your Dr. I'm sure he (or she) can reassure you and give you all the same details I just outlined.
