Morning after pill and...?

So, my friend got pretty intoxicated on tuesday night-wednesday morning, and apparently had sex with 3 guys. She was not told this until about 2 hours ago. She thinks she should go and get the morning after pill because it can be taken within 72 hours of intercourse or whatever. But, how effective is this? And if it isn't at all, what else can be done? I can tell you one thing, if I wasn't on vacation, this wouldn't have happened because, I wouldn't have let her go and do this, I am just trying to help out my friend...Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I forgot to mention that she was/is on her period.

Unfortunately I've seen this happen to a lot of girls and its a terrible thing to not remember what you did. I feel for this girl I really do and as her friend you should let her know this is not all her fault, she just needs to be more selective of who she drinks with or have a safety buddy that she trusts I know that sounds silly but next time she may not wake up. As for the morning after pill it can work up to 72 hrs after but the truth is at that point its less than 70% accurate, she should still take it(although its possible its highly unlikely that she would get pregnant on her period).She should go to the doctor right away because they will treat her with antibiotics for STDs and infections immediately.
