Question: Why would some girls not be allowed to wear tampons!?
Is there something wrong with tampons other then the TSS risk!? One of my friends said that she isn't allowed to wear tampons!. (she's 16) why would she not be allowed to!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, she might not be allowed to because her parents don't allow it!. Is her family religious!? Some people believe that if a girl wears a tampon it will take her virginity away!. Or maybe they are uncomfortable for her!? There could be several reasons, but i can't think of any medical reason with the exception of TSS that she wouldn't be allowed to wear them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My mum never let me because of the TSS risk, I went behind her back and just brought some from the supermarket!
As long as people are educated on the use of tampons, there's no associated risk and TSS is very rare!.

I know a girl at my school who isn't allowed to wear tampons either!. Because of her religion, she isn't allowed to put anything into her vagina until she loses her virginity with her husband!. I don't know what religion it is though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
