Question: Question about Dianette!?
I've been prescribed dianette for my skin and I was just wondering about something!.!.
My doctor said you can only take it for 18 months then you need to take a break; can someone explain this a bit better!? Like how long would the break have to be!?
Also, if it turns out to be helping my skin but it's probably not as good as it could be!.!. could you keep taking it again!?

Haven't taken dianette myself!. in the past i've been on alesse, marvelon, and yasmin!. before my doctor chose to perscribe yasmin, i asked him about dianette and he said he didn't like prescribing it so i asked why and he just said the level of hormones are unusually high and it can effect your hormones later on!.
when doctors do end up prescribing it for patients, they tell them to take it for no longer than 6 months (or w!.e temporary amount of time)!. some people take it for years at a time but i would never recommend it!. apparently the amount of estrogen and progestigin in this pill is alot higher than other bcp pills which can really mess with your hormones in the long run if you take it for alot longer than u should!. (which is generally 6 months)!.
its supposed to be harder to concieve once you come off of it after a long while!. but thats only what i've heard!. i've heard alot of good things from people that have taken dianette for acne!. which was one of the reasons i asked for it!. it'll clear up your acne in about 2-3 months and just from my expierience with bcp, you can probably expect your breast to be tender 24/7, possible weight gain (or loss if your lucky), nausea, and serious increase in appetite! those are only possibilites!. everyones different!. goodluck!

I also take dianette!. It starts to help with skin problems after a few months!. My advise is keep it up, they results will start to show!. Also it acts as a contraceptive!Www@Answer-Health@Com
