Hot flashes without menopause...?!
Question: Hot flashes without menopause!.!.!.!?
I'm 46 and a half!. I've had all the tests - no menopause or perimenopause!. Yet from time to time, and this has been for years, I get so hot that it feels like I'm going to "spontaneously combust!" At night, my body heat wakes me into a fit of throwing covers off me!. Yet, I don't sweat!. I can sweat because I do when I run!. I sweat while I do my hair while getting ready!. So, my question is: what are these freaky bursts of heat; and why does my body not perspire to cool me down!? Is this a perimenopause/menopause thing!? Could the tests be wrong!? Maybe you are or are not in perimenopause/menopause!. I don't care what doctors say, I believe that you are having hot flashes and they suck!! I had a total hysterectomy at 32 (now 46) and have been off hormone therapy for a while!. I used to never sweat, now I sweat horribly especially during a stupid hot flash!. Sometimes they are so brutal!. I sympathize with you!. I had night sweats so bad that changing the jammies became a nightly thing!. (Not as bad anymore though, thank goodness!)
I believe that your hormones are fluctuating and it is preparing you for perimenopause/menopause!. I am not a doctor or nurse or anything in the medical profession, but I do know a hot flash when I hear about it!.

See your doctor and ask for a TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) test, along with a T3 & T4 test!. Are you also loosing weight, easily angered, shaky, feel like you could run around the house about a hundred times, increased sex drive!? It could be what is called Graves Disease!. Go to www!.webmd!.com and look it up or google it!. You could also just have a temporarily high TSH level!. Or it could be nothing to do with your thyroid!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
