I had a Mirena IUS fitted 5 days ago, Since then i have had bad period pains?!


Question: I had a Mirena IUS fitted 5 days ago, Since then i have had bad period pains!?
My lower abdomen hurts, I never had period pains before and i am not actually bleeding either!.

So whats with the pains!? It feels like my belly is going to explode!

Should i get my nurse to check it out for me!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is no harm in a check up!. The pains, which are probably uterine spasm, will usually settle!. However in a few women it just continues, with the uterus trying to expel the coil, which sometimes has to be removed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
