There is an antiseptic called Domeboro and that relly helps!. The reason why when you get a period it itches because hormones change during a menstral cycle and it feels a "little inflammed" because of blood flow during the cycle and it i very normal to itch when you have a period!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're mother could be wrong!. This may be a yeast infection, have you taken any antibiotics lately they are famous for causing yeast infections and also douches!. Yes yeast infections come from being too clean, and they cause severe itching!. There is an over the counter cream called mono-stat or you can get a generic just make sure it says it cures yeast and not just controlled the symptoms!. If the itching continues then you need to see you're doctor to have him check for vaginitis this is not a STD!. And women who do not have sex can get it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Talk to your doctor, but over cleansing will make it worse as would douching!. In the meantime, eat yogurt with LIVE cultures, or drink kefir (you get it at the health food store) they will help balance the good bacteria in your system!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

and dw!.!. they don't check anything they just give you the prescription !.!.!. just make sure ur being as specific as possible!.!.
hope that helps :)

It sounds like you may have a low grade infection!. I'd call my doctor and explain!. Also, since its' a week-end-I'd try increasing the good flora and eat yogurt!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

it might be yeast infection so go doctor when it occurs with no dischargeWww@Answer-Health@Com

everyone goes thought that(at least girls)!. u have to go see a doctorWww@Answer-Health@Com

Two baths a day is ok, but don't wash or dry the area too vigorously and irritate it even more!. Vagisil will help!. Actually it is something that happens to some women when they get their period!. My daughter gets it and when she became sexually active, it got worse and she would get a vaginal infection some months!. In my opinion, her doctor at the time was a quack and tried to convince her to take an antibiotic every day (really bad idea)!. If the baths or Vagisil doesn't help, a doctor can!. They have prescription creams that work better than Vagisil!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all try antihistamines, they could reduce the itch if it's an allergy/stress based itch!.
Another thing you can do is to take a bath in water and white vinegar!.
Another bath remedy is oatbran in bath water!.
Before of after your period try a Canestan treatment, which uses a pessary or cream inserted up "there"!.
If these fail to work then you should visit your doctor/Ob Gyn to find a cure more suited for you!.
It might be Bacterial Vaginosis which can feel itchy and gets worse during the period but has a smell!. This can be "cured" by taking 800mg of folic acid per day for a week, or by taking meds prescribed by the doctor!.
Good luck, and eat live yoghurt with acidophilus/bidfus to get good bacteria down there!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
