You will walk in the office and sign your name on the sign-in sheet and then have a seat in the waiting area!.

The receptionist will call your name to the window, she will take a copy of your insurance cards!.

You will be asked to have another seat in the lobby until your name is called!.

Your name will be called and you will follow the nurse to your room!. She may ask you to get a urine sample or go to a small office lab to get a blood sample!. You will also get your blood preasure checked, heart rate taken and you will be instructed to put on a gown and cover up with a sheet!. The nurse will note your b/p, and h/r in your chart!.

You will sit for quite a while (depending upon how busy the gyn is that day) The gyn will come in, shake your hand and greet you!. He will have a seat and ask you about your cycles, birth-control and any complaints you are having!. He may ask if you are sexually active!.

You will then be instructed to take your arm's out of your gown and lay down!. You will put your right arm under your head as the gyn checks your breasts for lumps/masses!. You will then do the same with your left side!. You will put your arm's back in your gown and the gyn will prompt you to put your feet in the stirrups!. He will put a cold metal device on your vagina that hold's it open!. He will insert what looks like a long Q-tip and get a swab from your cervix (this is the pap test) He will then apply KY Jelly to his gloved hand and insert 2 fingers inside and feel around while pressing on your lower pubic line!. He will remove his hand, take off his glove and jot everything in your chart!. He will tell you of any findings and ask if you have any questions and write you out birth-control (if you want it) and any meds!. you may need!.

You will then put your clothes back on, walk to the desk, get a return appointment and leave!.

No big deal!. Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

RELAX!!!! Although they can be uncomfortable they usually are not painful!. You will go into the Dr!. and they will give you a gown of some sort!.!.!.usually paper and tell you to get completly naked!. You will sit on the bed and wait for the Dr!. when he comes in you lay back and they put your feet in some stirrups!.!.!.you gotta open wide!.!.then he will take a light and keep it down there and you will probably hear "This is going to be a little cold" and we will insert a device into you (after he lubes you up a little) that opens you up a little and he will take and just kinda scrape your insides!.!.!.it's uncomfortable!.!.you will fill pressure but little pain!.!.!.he will put his sample into a little jar and send it off to the lab!. Nothing big!.!.!.10 min tops!. And there will be another nurse in there with you when he does this and if you want your mom could probably stay!. Just be sure to take a shower to eliminate any odors ( DO NOT DOUCHE!!!! as this could alter test results) and make sure your feet look nice since they will be right next to his head!. Feel better now!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nothing to it ~ it is fine
Just make sure you take a shower and smell good before you go!. Also, when you go to check in, ask them to use the ladies room and they have alcohol pads so wipe down w/ those before your exam but make sure if you have to pee for them you do this first and then do the alcohol deal after instead
Relax and don't worry it really is not a big deal at allWww@Answer-Health@Com

dont worry they are painless and quick!. remember the doctor is experinced in that field, so you shouldnt feel uncomfortable!. they will do the exam, checking for cysts etc, and then take a swab which later is tested to make sure you dont have any cancerous cells in you uterus, and also they do a breast exam most of the time!. you will be fine, its something that all women have to go through!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
