From what I understand through since prehistoric times Humans have long understood the meaning of womens menstual cycles!. Though I have know referances many of the greek fertility goddesses were created according to mythology in 28 days and our monthly calender is based on a 28 day months and the months are named after greek gods and goddesses I'm assuming that signify a new birth or beggining of some sort!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's actually been stigmatized for hundreds of years, and understanding the cause of it is actually pretty recent when you consider the length of human history!. There is no way to know!. My guess is they just dealt with it!. When they saw it stopped, they just figured it was just a weird thing!.
