Question: I totally believe I could have "polycystic ovary syndrome", but the gyno said no!.!.!.!?
I'm insulin resistant, terribly obese, infertle, miss periods, & have brown hard thick skin on my hands and feet!.
I had an ultrasound last year, but the doctor said he didn't see "polycystic ovary syndrome"!.
Can ladies who have been diagnosed with it please tell me how long it took to get diagnosed!?
Did the doctor ever miss seeing it!?

Okay, not only what everyone else is saying, but the majority of gynos aren't trained to diagnose PCOS--most women with it don't have cysts!. The ONLY way to tell if you have PCOS is through an elaborate set (like 21-25 things that they look for) of blood tests!. My advice is to go see an endocrinologist--they are the doctors who specialize in PCOS!. Metformin and Spironalactone can do wonders!Www@Answer-Health@Com
i am also Insulin Resistant and have elevated Prolactin Levels, have about 4 periods a year etc and i was diagnosed with PCOS Without an Ultrasound
i now take 850mg metformin 3 times a day and this is starting to increase me menstrual cycle
i have been told that i may not be able to conceive naturally on my own so i may need help from the Hospital

You don't have to actually have cysts to have PCOS!. That's why it's called a SYNDROME!.Your OBGYN should know this!. I would recommend you see another gyno for an evaluation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
if you know that you have it then listen to your gut!. i was diagnosed without an ultrasound!. so find a new gyno!Www@Answer-Health@Com
