You should just tell your mom the truth about why you want it!. A large number of woman just take birth control to help regulate their periods and have a lighter, shorter period!. So you could tell her that that's what you want it for!. Another good point to make is that when you are ready to have sex, you're going to have sex and it would probably be a better idea if you were using a form of protection!. If your mother is still unsure, maybe you two should sit down together with your doctor and discuss your options and possible pros and cons to put your mom more at ease!. If the entire thing is a trust issue, maybe you need to have a heart to heart talk about your mother trusting you first, before you try to convince her you need to go on birth control!.
You can obtain birth control yourself also even if you are a minor and do not have insurance!. I went through a family planning center when I was 16 to get birth control and I continued to get birth control there for $20 a month until I was 21!. That's another option you have available to you, and your mom doesn't ever have to know about it!. You can look them up online!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The big question is why do you want to go on it!?
Many parents don't realize the pill is used for more than just sex!. Many women (including me) have used it for medical reasons (hormonal imbalance and PCOS)!. That is why she said what she said about the pill!.
If you're not having sex, a teen should not go on it!.
Your body's hormones are still adjusting!. Going on the pill now can screw you up if you don't NEED it!.
If you're having period problems, wait until you're 18 after your hormones and periods are stable!. If they're still screwed up by then, you can go on the pill without your mom's permission because you'll be a legal adult!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Trust me, you need to just bite your lip and ask her!. Because eventually you will become sexually active!. I was the same way!. I never wanted to ask her for the same reasons but I wanted it because my cramps were always terrible!. It isn't just "giving a child an ok to go out n have sex" what it is is giving a chile PROTECTION!. When I did become sexually active (and yes I used a condom) I was with my b/f for about 3 yrs b4 it happened but I ended up pregnant all because my mom felt the same way about it as yours does!. Try to explain to her that it is good for regulating your periods and giving you lighter cramping!. And also tell her that yea in the long run when you do decide to become sexually active, at lest she'll know then that you are in fact safe and being smaret about it!. Good luck!. Hope this helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Why do you need birth control if your not sexually active!. Don't go to planned parenthood!.!.!.been there done that over ten years ago and it was a BIG mistake!. They are not as confidential as they say they are!. I would listen to your mother and choose abstinence!. Then you don't need to worry about it until you are old enough to go to the doctor and pay for it yourself and you won't need your mom's approval!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You do not need parental permission to obtain birth control!. If you don't feel comfortable going to your family physician, go to planned parenthood!. They are a great place for teens and young adults and have a good system for privacy!. And they typically have female physicians!. A big plus for those that are new to pelvic examinations!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You don't say what your age is, and that's okay!. Be open and honest with your Mom, she's the only one you have!. I put my girl on BC when she was 14 and she's 19 now!. Most parents aren't stupid, some have a realistic view on serious matters - such as yours!. You also didn't mention if you have a close relationship with your Mom!. That's okay, as well!. Just keep trying to talk to her about how you feel about it!. For me, it wasn't condoning the act, it's knowing that my child is not ready to be a parent, and I am not ready to be a grandparent!. Best of luck to you!Www@Answer-Health@Com
Try calling Planned Parenthood and find out if they can help you with the birth control, they won't judge you!. Until then, use condoms!.!.!.yeah, I know, they can be a drag sometimes, but until you get the birth control thing sorted out, use the condoms!. If you do choose to have sex!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
