It depends on the level of dysplasia, or abnormal cells!. Your doctor can tell you this!. In fact, you are entitled to a copy of the lab report!. Get this before you make a decision on the colpo!.

Atypical is NOT pre-cancerous!. It's NOT an emergency!. A colposcopy is not usually done for mild dysplasia!. Generally, if the dysplasia is mild to moderate, most doctors will wait and do another Pap in 6 months or so!.

Actually, I would have the Pap done again before I scheduled the colpo!. It could be a false-positive result!. It's happened to me many times!. At best, Paps are only 80% accurate!.

Why have a colpo done if it's not truly necessary!? A pap smear will note any changes, at which time you can have the colpo, at your convenience!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The reason they want to do it is because without the colopscopy they can't really tell how severe the changes on your cervix are, and with your past history (although I'm not sure what LGSIL means) they want to get you in and do the colposcopy as soon as possible so that if any treatment is needed they can do it quickly to reduce the risk of it developing in to cancer!.

Obviously they can't FORCE you to have it done, at the end of the day it's your decision, but they are only trying to do what is in your best interests from a medical point of view, and you should trust them!. As for Friday "not being a good day" for you!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.well when it comes down to it, this procedure is to stop you from developing cervical cancer, and so you really need to sort out your priorities!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
