Are you sure that you're putting it in correctly!? Are you pushing it in far enough!? What about size!? It might be too big for you!. That's always a problem!. But, you could still have your hymen fully intact, so that may be causing the pain!. That will go away soon!.
Make sure that when you put it in, that you are putting it in and sliding into an angle to fit your body!. If you look on the instructions in side of the box, it should have pictures!.

Tampons are such a great thing, but I agree - they can be a pain, though when you first try them out!. I have a good recommendation - Tampax Pearl!. Smooth, slim, scented, and great for a starter teen like you! :) I love them!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Read the directions on the tampons you bought for some ideas!.
Generally, make sure the absorbancy size is right for you, and relax!. Sit on the toilet, or put one foot up on the toilet or tub!. Relax some more, and insert the tampon, aiming it toward your spine!. Make sure its far enough inside, remove the applicator if you're using one and you're done!
If you feel it at all, push it back more because once it's in place you shouldn't feel anything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You could buy some lubricant and put it on the outside of the applicator or tampon, that might help!.
Playtex GentleGlide is a great brand and is the first tampons I used!.
Also, your hymen might still be intact, so you should run a lot and/or ride a bike a lot, but the hymen is tricky because it will hurt when broken!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it's just it's too tight for the tampon
you have to suck it up and use them a couple times
