Question: When on the pill do you produce and egg that gets held till right before your period and then goes through a rapid ovulation, or do you just hold in all you eggs and not ovulate at all? I know wierd question, but my fiancee asked me it last night, and I couldn't come up with a definente answer. I know you don't ovulate regurally while your on the pill, but do you not ovulate at all? and if so is that healthy?

ok...females have already produced all their eggs at birth. so you do not produce any more. But here is to answer your question. The pill is a hormone to trick your body into thinking it is already pregnant. That is so that you do not "release" any more eggs. Then the week that you take the sugar pills or refrain from taking the hormone (depending on which pill), your body releases the egg and your period begins because you are no longer "pregnant".
