Period, pregnancy help!?! plz offer any advice and knowledge that you have ....=]!

Question: hey all,

ok, where 2 start!?! well i have been having unprotected sex on and off since the begining of feb 08 (trying for a baby), since feb i have had two periods, but i must say that they were very light, short and unusuall for me. i took a pg test 2 weeks ago which came back negative, my period for this month was due on the 8th so i am a few days late now, but i am still worried as i have most of the pregnancy syptoms...but i am unsure if its because im thinking about it a bit (not loads) also if you can still have 'like' periods whilst pregnant would they just stop as the pregnancy progresses?

so basically my question is: can you still have 'periods' and still be pregnant?

thankyou all in advance =]

x

You can have a period as such, though it will be a noticeable difference to you regular period. It maybe lighter and perhaps different in colour.

If you think you have symptoms of pregnancy, you might consider going to your doctor, reliable as home tests are your doctor will give you a definite answer!

Good luck with conceiving and happy pregnancy perhaps =D!

Well it's not really a period, it's just spotting here and there. It is usually very very light pink and only when you wipe. Good luck & baby powder to you!

Not periods as such no, but yes you can have bleeding - a lot lighter, during pregnancy. You say you took a test 2 weeks ago but your period was due on the 8th - which tells me you took it too early. Try a pregnancy test now - hopefully it should show up by now.

what?

Yes, you can. They are actually break through bleeding though and can be an indication of something wrong with the pregnancy, but that is is not always the case. I had pretty much what you describe for the first 3 months and delivered a healthy baby (at only 8 months).
See your doctor.

Yes you can, but they are not really periods. My friend had them for the first four months and she is an intelligent person, and would not have missed being pregnant if there were any other signs!

I had a period with my last pregancy. It lasted 24-36hrs then stopped, Like you, I thought it was odd, so did a test and it was positive.
Depending on when in your cycle you got pregnant, you might have done the other test too early ( this has happened to me too). My advice would be wait a few more days, then do another test!
The bleeding you had could just be your body adjusting if you were on the pill before or something.

Good luck

(Mum if 4!)

Yes, you can still menstruate and be pregnant. I've seen plenty of answerers mention that their doctor said they had a full fledged period (not light, but heavy, and they were healthy and had a healthy baby boy) all nine months while pregnant with their baby.

first of all you have to say if you are regular in your period or not.
thus, amenorrhea is a fairly reliable sign of conception in woman with regular menstrual cycles. in woman with irregular cycles, amenorrhea is not reliable. delayed menses may also be caused by others factors as emotional tension, chronic disease, opioid, endocrine disorders, and certains genitourinary tumors. spotting caused by bleeding at the implantation site may occur from the time of the implantation ( about 6 days after fertilization) until 29-35 days after LMP in many women. some women have unexplained cyclic bleeding thought pregnancy
