Nauseous girlfriend (on the pill), what should I try to get her to eat?!

Question: Hey, my girlfriend just started on the pill a couple weeks ago and she's been really nauseous since a few days in, she's only thrown up a few times really early on but she says she feels like she's going to pretty much every time she eats or drinks anything. Her doctor said it's a common side effect and it'll go away eventually but she's hardly eating anything so she's getting weak and listless and losing weight but she doesn't want to eat anything. Any ideas on what I can make or get that might make her feel ok? I'm not an amazing chef or anything but I can still try to make something if you think she'd be able to get it down.
Thanks, cheers-

I had minimal nausea and it ended after the first two weeks or so, but during that time I lived on saltine crackers and clear sodas. Both of those helped calm my stomach.

Another suggestion (which she might have already tried) is taking the pill right before bedtime instead of during the day. If she does this, she will be sleeping during the time that her body is adjusting to the pill (which normally makes her nauseous). It may be better for her than feeling so sick during the day when she is most active.

Hope some of that helps! Remember, the nausea should go away after the first three months. For me, it was gone after the first month. If she continues to feel sick, she might need to change pills. Tell her to talk to her doctor if her symptoms persist.

Good luck!

Saltine Crackers to eat. Canada Dry to drink. It always helps me. =] hope I could help.

To solve the nausea problem she can take her pills with milk.
That's how I stopped mine.

Maybe just something plain like toast.
Try make her something which will give her a lot of energy.
Tea is a great source of energy and so are the citric fruits like oranges and lime.

Good Luck
:)

I agree with the saltine and canada dry also usually anything without much taste, bland food she can probably keep that down. I would also ask the doctor to switch her pills to one without those side effects

I would get a pregnancy test. It sounds like she is pregnant.
If she is on the pill she can still get pregnant. Especially if she was on antibiotics recently.

However, the test is negative, I would try giving her chicken soup, like Campbell's, is probably the best. Jello maybe.

chicken broth, or a smoothie. maybe some italian ice, its less dense then ice cream, but its really good.

saltine and ginger ale. But tell her to balance to saltine to ginger ale intake, b/c too much of the liquid might make her bring it up again.
