oh my god - i can't believe that poster said put alcohol on it. that would make it burn beyond belief! use lotion, with aloe is best, and i've heard (and used) deodorant. not sure why that helps, but it did. just rub it on like you do under your arm (externally only). you'll get used to it. what helps me, also, it waiting until the end of the shower to shave, so that the hair is softer. don't use a dull razor, and make sure to use plenty of soap or shaving cream. and put the lotion on immediately.

Yes, it's completely normal =) It will itch like crazy for the first few times you do it. It gets better though!

It is normal. There isn't a soul that I know who doesn't. I just put alcohol on it. Be sure not to get it inside but it will really burn. Also take warm baths as warm as you can stand and put vaseline down there. everywhere it itches.

That and bumps are normal.

Yeah, when I first started shaving down there it itched real bad for a while. I think it was just the fact that it was new, and probably some razor burn. Maybe try using a different soap too. But for me, it went away after I got used to it. But keep it shaved cause when it starts going back then it can start to itch a little more...

But yeah, I'd say it's normal. Cause it was for me!!! Good luck hun and don't worrry!!!

powder your puff

Yea bc u had a lot of hair you probably bared down to hard and it's a weird feeling too but you get used to it. Next time use conditioner, and I always start with my legs so the razor's a little dull when I get down there. It won't scrape the bumps that way. Conditioner is important. Vaseline is good for now... Creamy vaseline if you have it it's not so sticky.

okay, calm down. take a deep breath. this is COMPLETELY normal. it will happen until you get used to doing it more often. i shave down there all he time and i have super sensitive skin so it almost always itches when i shave. here's what i found that works really well.......get some lotion with aloe vera. the lotion will moisturize the skin and the aloe vera will soothe and heal the razor burn and itchy skin. it doesn't take a lot of lotion to make it feel better. since the skin around your genitals is naturally more sensitive you need to be a little more careful and gentle when shaving down there. the more you do it, the more your skin will get used to it and the less it will happen. but itchiness and razor burn are gonna happen for a little while. it's totally normal, so don't worry about it at all. hope this helps!

Yes, there is light at the end of the tunnel! The itching is just your sensitive labia skin (lips) adjusting to it's new surroundings (your underwear). Remember, it was being protected by a layer of hair, and now it's exposed! The same thing happens to a guy's face when he shaves, that is, after he hasn't shaved for a while. Try not to scratch it; put a little aloe on it and try not to wash your underwear with perfumed/dyed detergent. Good luck!

could be razor burn, and DO NOT use vaseline! also, DO NOT use alcohol... definitely shampoo and conditioner will help... did you RAZER shave or Electric shaver shave? I did the razor once and I will never do it again... Remington makes a "Female Shaver" and it is operated by two AAA batteries and you can adjust the length. I haven't itched since. and, no razer burn! This shaver is only like, $10

It's completely normal. Actually I think the first time is the "itchy-est". Try exfoliating (careful not to get in any openings) the day after you shave. And anytime after you see any red bumps occur. The red bumps will be ingrown hairs which is more likely to happen in that area because pubic hair is naturally curls. And shave with the hair not against the grain, that will help too. Also use a gentle lotion or baby oil after you shave. Once again don't go to far south and get it any holes just on the "mound" not the labia majora. Oh I forgot to add when you shave use a shave gel or cream for sensitive skin or that has aloe vera or baby oil added in. It will help make it soft and pull less on the skin when you shave. Hair conditioner is a good stand by too. And as always watch for the openings!

Good Luck.
