It's true but shops that sell these toys also sell things that children under 18 shouldn't be looking at. Hell, you see how all those religious groups freak out if they teach evolution in schools. How would they react if children under 18 could go into a sex toy shop? Keeping the age at 18 prevents a lot of protesting from ignorant people. I guess the types of people who would allow teenagers to buy sex toys are the same people who would buy the sex toys for their children. I would buy my daughter a vibe if she asked for it. But then again, that same religious group feels that handing out condoms isn't safe because it causes teens to have sex. I know, stupid, but that's what we're dealing with.

They probably feel that masterbating with sex toys will lead to other things. I am not sure I would be comfortable if I had a daughter and she was shopping in sex stores at a young age... If there is a minimum age to have sex without penalty, they probably feel there should be an age to purchase sex toys as well.

Moonshine is difficult to make, different than, and with different consequences to drinking...than whiskey. Likewise, sex and masturbation are not the same things, nor does the one substitute for the other. Our society has said (admittedly arbitrarily) "Sex toys are bad". You, being (legally) a child, would presumably suffer more from this badness than me (legally, an adult). They are actually trying to protect you, though you don't realize it

well wouldnt it be weird if a 12 year old walked in to a sex shop and just bought a dildo casually? the age limit is there so it doesnt tempt anyone underage to have sex or even masturbate with things that could lead to sex. it makes sense when you think about it.
If they didn't have an age, girls would be wanting to have sex more and more. Having an age makes girls not worry about it until they are older.
