She's not on her period but she is bleeding?!
Question: So this morning my girlfriend calls me and ask her to pick up tampons on the way to work, this is odd because she is not supossed to start for another couple of weeks. She also told me that she forgot to take her birth control this weekend and we had sex on Sunday. We don't know what to think at this point, she says its not alot of blood, but its more than spotting, so is this normal, or is there a chance that she could be pregnant? Any advice as to what is going on would be greatly appreciated.

If she's bleeding she can't be preggers hun. (Not usually anyway) The blood that is lost is actually the lining of the uterus that the baby would feed on and live off. So if there is blood coming out, theres usually no baby.
An exception to this is if complications arise during pregnancy, or perhaps she is simply getting an irregular period. This happens frequently to some women.
Yous shouldn't fret too much, but get her to go to the gyno for a check-up if she is worried. Ask her if there are any abnormalities that she is feeling, women know their body's surprisingly well :)

If she forgot to take her pill that can cause bleeding. If she is bleeding she is probably not pregnant.
My sister has the same problem when she forgets to take her birth control, because she takes the bc to regulate her periods so maybe thats it idk. But she should have that checked out immediately.
If she missed herpills then she might have started early. And if she missed her pills and you had sex there is always a chance she could be pregnant but not a high one if she has her period now.
it is quite normal for a woman to have small cysts on her ovaries with no effect.. It is possible that one may have popped causing the bleeding... If it lasts more than a day, I would make her see the gyno...

Sounds like breakthrough bleeding, because she has forgotten her pill. Nothing to worry about, make sure she doesn't come off it in the next 7 days and also use a condom for the next 7 days
Yes spotting is a sign of pregnancy. The only way to know is to take a test but she will have to wait until her period is due

if you miss your bc 9 out of 10 times your going to get a light period. Every time i missed a pill i would get a light period the next day don't worry she's fine
When you miss pills spotting can happen, i wouldn't use tampons for mere spotting though.
My advice would be tell her finish out her pack and use condoms as a back up for the next month and if she has a problem remembering to take her pills, keep them in her purse and set her cell phone alarm to a time she can take them daily.

That could problaby mean that she either was pregnant and had a miscarriage or tha she ma be pregnant.
Yes, she could be PG, or having a hormone change in the body. Has she fallen down or been doing anything strenuous?
she couldent be pregnant because its not blood that you get with your period its the inside of your womb and you cant have a baby with no inside of youre womb

It depends on her age. Sometimes women's cycles an come irregularly. If she did get pregnant she might be having a miscarriage.

I always have abnormal bleeding when I miss a dose of bc. Even if I take it an hour after I am supposed to I will bleed. The doctor said it's normal, the female body is sensitive to any horomonal changes.
There are 2 chances here:
If her period is due in the next 2 weeks then right now she may be ovulating. Sometimes it happens and women can bleed while ovulating.
Another option is that she forgot to take her pills longer than a weekend, when we stop taking the pills for a few days your period comes. So she may be having an early period because she stop with the pills for too long.
Anyway it wouldn't hurt if she makes a doctor's appointment
it's because she forgot to take her birth control. there is a chance she could be pregnant, but most likely it's because she forgot to take her pills.
It is normal but do not rely in her pills for protection if she forgot already now she will later and boom pregnant so what you need to do is to use condoms buy thin ones I know its sucks but is better than sorry. It is better this way everybody is happy. In a worst case scenario situation ejaculate outside. Good luck and do not get her pregnant cause I think you two are new in sexual experiences.
