Very scared.. Potential Chlamydia? Please advise........?!

Question: Hi,

I am getting married in 1 month. I have been with my partner for nearly three years and have remained faithful the entire time, and so has he. I am 100% positive of that.

Today I finally went for a Pap Smear. I am 27 and haven't been in about 5 years.
I stopped taking the pill about 6-7months ago, and i think this has really played around with my hormones, but what prompted me to go for the Pap is (not only am I aware I was long overdue) for the last few months I have been suffering occational UTI symptoms.
Over the last 3 months, I realsied that they occur duing my 'PMS' time - the week leading up towards my period, and then the symptoms disapear when I start to bleed.

The symptoms include the need to frequently urinate, lower abdominal discomfort (like i've been holding on way to long), and vaginal itchyness.
I have no vaginal discharge, or burning when I pee, and drinking more water alliviates the discomfort.

I got a swab test taken today for Chlamydia, as I am

Im not sure whether you have it or not. But what I can tell you is that, that is pretty routine for them to check for that, once I went in for thrush and they tested me for that just to be sure, and I didnt have it. Its sometimes just part of their routine to ensure that they tick everything off as a possibilty. So it is possible you do just have a simple infection or UTI.

Don't worry about it, if you have chlamydia, they give you pills and it goes away just like that. it's totally curable.

Just wait for your results....which I realize isn't easy. Then get treatment right away. This is a very stressful situation, but your current boyfriend should realize that you were innocent when you contracted this SID. Take good care of yourself. It's not something you asked for. You only had to have one other partner to contract it. Keep your dignity.

Well I dont think you would have it that long and not notice ANYTHING before now. It is treatable and you will still be able to have children after. As for your fiance, well I would only hope he would understand that all this happened before him, but Im sure it wouls be hard to take. My feeling on this is no you dont have it.

there isn't much you can do until you get the results, but if you had it for three years it might have done damage to your reproductive system and it is possible that you wouldn't have symptoms until now, because there are no real symptoms of chlamydia, it only destroys your reproductive system. not what you wanted to hear. hope it all goes well for you. as for explaining it to your partner, if he really loves you he will understand and support you.

U should tell him if u are positive, otherwise dont even bring it up. If u find out u are, u must tell him right away. But dont make him worry just like ur worrying he'll drive u crazy.
