Drink lots of water and be sure and give yourself a castor oil enema. Youll spew like Mt St Helens.

I was on that for about 2 years and I never had a problem. However you should look at the info. packet to see if that is a side effect. If it doesn't say, you can call your pharmacist (kinneys, walmarts, walgreens etc.) or call your doctor. Being constipated that long is not good! Look into getting some help from a doc. Good luck!

I don't think that constipation is a direct side effect of the pill. However, anytime you mess with your hormones your body can go a bit crazy. I get kind of bloated and constipated sometimes on my period (I've been taking OTC for a year), but it hasn't been a real serious problem.

Make sure you are eating a lot of fiber, and take a gentle laxative if you feel it is necessary. If the problem persists or becomes more painful, contact your doctor. Different pills work differently for everyone. Give it at least a couple of months so your body can fully adjust. Though, sometimes you have to try a few until you find the right one.

Go and look at all the problems/concerns about contraception in Yahoo Answers. When will people start seeing what I see in healthcare? There are so many problems from these! People aren't even educated about side effects anymore, partly due to doctors being sued by pro-abortion supporters and partly due to people simply not caring.

Read up on steriods and athletes. Look at what they actually do to the body. Then, read about contraceptives...they are the same with a different mechanism.

Stick to barrier protection!

Constipation can occur; it's not as highly-rated a side effect as say, headaches or nausea, but it can happen. I personally just learned to live with it...a little constipation was better than pregnancy concerns!

Try combating the problem by using a fiber supplement (Citrucel, Metamucel, etc), eating more fruits & veggies, increasing fluid intake, and if you have a LOT of problems then you might need to talk to your doctor about changing formulations.
