she could be sick, she could be pulling it out or she may just be really unhealthy not getting the vitamins she needs.

as for the pulling it out, its actrully a disease called trichotillomania, i knew two people in high school who had it, they'd tell me how sometimes they didnt even realize they were doing it, but mainly were doing it from stress. my doctor even told me that another type of that disease is biting your nails or even biting the skin around your nails which is the more common one.
does she have her eye lashes? eye brows? the girls i knew pulled those out too...so if so that may be what she has.

She might be pulling it out.

Of course it is, haven't you noticed that every other teenage girl is bald?

Just tell her, "I have noticed that there is some hair loss issues you are having, have you had your thyroid checked? This can cause hair loss, and it would be horrible for you to be sick"

she may have this disease

Alopecia.

SHE IS YOUR FRIEND. ASK HER

only if you have cancer...

Well....
She could be anorexic/bulimic.
HairLoss is common for them.
Trust me, I know, I've experienced it.
Maybe shes just sick...
But it's not normal.

this is very common at this age... your friend is going through puberty, thats all... what happens is that when a teenager starts growing pubic hair, they lose some of the hair on their head to make up for the hair that is growing on the vagina. usually when a teenage girl starts going noticeably bald, that means they are growing a very hairy bush. dont worry, once she is through puberty the hair will return to her head.

I knew a girl who would seasonally lose hair.
She probably isn't "sick" or have a psych disorder like trichotillomania but it is probably some minor condition due to the way her body functions.

There could be several possible explanations. My first suggestion is to Google hair lose in teens. But if she is not pulling it out. Trichotillomania (hair-pulling disorder). Then it could possibly be a thyroid disorder like Graves disease(really skinny) or if she is a little heavy too it could be hypothyroid. It could also be something all together different. It would be best to talk her into seeing a doctor.

Well, its unusual for teenagers to lose their hairs...your friend could have a disease>> Just ask her patiently....

you may want to bring this issue to her parents attention because this does not sound normal
