Pill help????!


Question: i had been taking my pills as normal,then needed to continue takin them on mi week of cos of medication. So,i was basically taking them for over 5wks without stoping,then strted to bleed a little,this is normal. I then stopped taking my pills for my week off because i didnt want the bleeding to last until the packet was finished.am i still protected if i start the pills after taking the pills for 5wks then a break,then starting again?

Yes. You are protected. Just start your pills again considering last menstuation as normal menstruation.

I wouldn't count on being protected by any means. Professionals ask women who are trying to have a baby to plan ahead and stop taking the pill several weeks prior to conception. But that does not give out a guarantee or free pass to those that do not wish to become pregnant. I have a relative that became pregnant twice while religiously on the pill. Good Luck!

You wouldn't have bled for the entire time taking the pills, you probably just bled a little because your body is used to having a period in that cycle. If you skip your period (ie don't have the week off that usually causes your period to come) then you should continue taking the pills until you come up to the sugar pills/week off again.

With what you've done, I'd use condoms or not have sex for seven days, just to be sure that you're safe.
