I took the Plan B pill... should have gotten my period but only spotting?!
Question: yesterday i asked a question saying this:
I have been on the pill for 5 years, and been pretty good about it... well this is what has happened...
I was taking my birth control like usual, and I lost my pack when I still had 1 pill left. So I took the last pill from another pack to replace it. I took my last pill on Saturday night. I was supposed to get my period this morning, and I didn't. So I went investigating... It turns out that the last pill i took was expired!!
I had sex 2 days ago, I'm thinking of going to get Plan B. should i worry about being pregnant?

I took Plan B after 48 hours after having sex, and I have been bleeding very lightly (like spotting) for almost 2 days now. Is this my period? Because I was supposed to get my period yesterday. But It has never been this light. Is my body just super confused because i put hormones in me right before i was supposed to have my period? I am on a pill that has 3 weeks of real pills and a week of sugar fake ones

The bleeding that you have while on birth control is from withdrawal of the hormones. Since Plan B is basically three high hormonal birth control pills, you're not really in withdrawal yet since you put more hormones into your system. One of the side effects of Plan B is a light, spotty period. Once you start taking the active birth control pills again, you will stop bleeding. Also, Plan B can disrupt your birth control pills and make them less effective, so just try and take your birth control everyday at the same time so you won't have to take the Plan B.
