Well she has already given her advise in a way and has got you using pads not tampons. But if that what you want to try then ust pick up a pack by yourself. Even if they are not for the whole of your period then you can use them to go swimming or to do other sport. Tampons or pads is personal choice. I never find them very comfy and cant get them to stay in. But give it a go.

how old are you? Its advisd that pre-teens or young teens not use tampsons

I prefer tampons as they are easier in many ways, using, disposing, transporting...

I'd say just tell her you would like to try tampons instead, just to see which you prefer.

I can't see her saying no!

Its up to the individual person what you find best. Some people prefer tampons because they are cleaner and easier to use, but you must be aware of TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome). Next time you go past them just ask her if you can try them. They may be uncomfortable at first but when used right alot of people say its like there is nothing there!
Good luck !

Just be honest and tell her you would like to try tampons. Just because she does not like them doesn't mean you won't.

Every woman is different, some prefer pads and some tampons.

I'm sure your mum will be very understanding, she is a woman after all!! :)

I am 23 and i have never ever used tampons, i think they are nasty and i dont like the idea of sticking forgein objects up there. Plus a lot of idiots leave them up there by accident with horrible consequences ,,,even death..

However, my sister does not use anything apart from tampons since she was 15, and she loves him and has never had a problem. Some people think sanitary towels are unhygenic , so really its up to you.

My mom is exactly like that! I took some of my friends tampons from her house and tried them myself (it took me a while to figure it out) but honestly tampons are SO much easier and less messy than pads once you've got the hang of putting a tampon in! I can't stand wearing pads anymore, unless I have SUCH bad cramps that I don't want to put a tampon in.

pads are more safer and you don't have to change them so often but tampons are good for swimming.
just tell her you want to try tampons for one month (one cycle) to see what you prefer. but if you are under the age of 15 then i'd advise you to stick to pads for awhile. tampons are more difficult for someone so young.

american sorry i disagree

U can use tampons as soon as you start ya periods, ya mom perhaps saw u looking and thought right ill ask her, just be open with her and say mom u know we went passed that aisle today and u asked me and i said no well i would like to try and start using tampons, dont worry bout talking to your mom she has been through it herself.

Best wishes
x

I am not sure about this one hun, but you should talk to her. I wish I could talk to my mom. She doesen't understand ANYTHING, she says that she was just like me, but I am not pregnant, she was. I hate that ever year she goes through three boyfriends.

chat back on msn/email me, I am not usually on

I think some moms worry about there daughters to a little more than needed. That was the case with my mom when it came to tampons.
The only way I was able to get my mom to finally get me tampons was when I started the night before we were going on a week long trip to a lake and obviously I needed them to go swimming.
Maybe plan it around a swim occasion.
or
Maybe get the ultra thin easy glide or ask the pharmacist to point them out next time you're at the store with your mom. Tell her (in a mature way of speaking) that YOU prefer using tampons, and that you would like her support. Maybe ask her to help you find the best kind, to help it smooth over easier.

Good luck!

Just say you used a frineds once and you thought they worked a lot better for you.
