Tampons! Help!?!

Question: Hi! Thanks for opening!
I've had my first period on December 9th 2007. So I've had it for like 4 months now. (even though it seems like forever) but I really want to try to use tampons. I am sooooo scared of them though. I can't ask my mom to get them for me because... well its scary. So I went on beinggirl.com and got a free sample of tampons and pads. And they came in yesterday! I was so embrassed when my mom handed them to me! But, I'm glad I have like 3 tampons now. But I need advice on how to insert it correctly and everything. And how I ask my mom for more?

This is embrassing but I can stick my whole finger up there with no problem, but I can feel this thing that when I touch it, it kinda feels like I am going to pee. And to the left of that it feels really slimey. What is that?

Any advice will help me alot.

That thing you feel is the neck of the cervix. Rubbing on it can be very stimulating and that is why you feel like you want to pee. And the slimy liquid you feel could be vaginal secretion.

Just be brave and ask your mom she understand that you need tampons.

You don't need to wear tampon it you are not menstruating.

Hope my answer will help.
Take care and keep in touch.....
These are instruction for inserting tampons:

1.Relax! Try not to worry about inserting the tampon right the first time. If you are tense it will make insertion harder.

2. The best time to practice inserting a tampon is during the heavy part of your period. The tampon should glide inside your vagina easily without any discomfort.

3. Decide if you prefer to insert the tampon standing or sitting. If sitting is your preference, sit on the toilet. If you want to try standing, putting one foot on the bathtub helps.

4. Hold the tampon applicator in your right hand if you are right-handed, or left if left-handed.

5. Use your thumb and middle finger to hold the bottom of the larger, outer tube.

6. Point the tip of the applicator toward your vagina, facing slightly towards the back. The smaller tube should be pointed away from your body.

7. Use your other hand to open your vagina.
Place the tip of the applicator at the opening of your vagina.

8. Gently push the smaller end of the applicator in until it is completely inside the larger outer tube. This pushes the tampon into your vagina and out of the tube.

9. With your thumb and middle finger still on the outer tube, release the smaller tube and let the strings dangle freely.
Gently pull the two tubes out together.
Dispose of the applicator according to the manufactuer's instructions.

10. When you are ready to remove the tampon, gently pull the withdrawl strings down and forward. The used tampon may be flushed down the toilet.

Tips:
Lubricating the rounded end of the tampon with a water-based lubricant such as K-Y Jelly can make insertion easier the first few times. Don't use petroleum jelly.
Always read the manufactuer's instructions throughly before using any type of tampon.
If the tampon feels uncomfortable it is probably not inserted far enough into your vagina. Try again with a new tampon

I think you found your cervix at the top of your canal. Put your foot on the toilet and relax. Place tampon over vaginal opening and begin insertion. When you run into resistance, tilt tampon toward your back, and continue. Make sure you get it in all the way. It should go past the bone in the front of your canal. If it
