Ovarian cysts.. any pain reliever suggestion?!?!

Question: I occasionally get cysts that can last for a couple of months (has been happening for years). Ive been checked out by doctors and all that good stuff. The only thing they told me was to go on birth control. I am extreamly uncomfortable taking synthetic hormones. Does anyone know of something besides a heating pad that can relieve pain?

lay in a hot bath for a while. or even better, a jacuzzi/hot tub if you have access. I have had cysts as well as kidney stones, and I have found that the weightlessness of your body and those parts relieve the pain for a while. and the hot water is comforting as well. although this doesn't work long-term like medicine or surgery, its still very soothing.... a little twist on the old heating pad remedy. good luck!

I would take motrin...and a heating pad (i know you were looking for something else, but thats what works best with me)

Well the first 6 months I had cysts they had me taking vicodin and well that worked but I felt like crap all the time. Then they gave anti inflamitory stuff and taht worked and actually motrin worked great. But the best I'm sorry to say is getting on the pill I'm on a great one call "LO ESTRIN 24" Its great it has the least amount of hormones and your period only lasts 2-3 days. Also I havent' had any problems since I started taking it. Trust me, its worth it.

idk other than the heating pad maybe there is something out there that is all natural you can take to help relieve the pain.. Sorry i could not be anymore help..

Advil and a heating pad are the only things I know of. Sorry.. :(
