Pelvic pain...?!

Question: OKay so I've had this on and off pain on the left side of my pelvis for about a month. I have a appointment to get a pelvic ultrasound this afternoon. Can the radiologist tell me what they see, as in cyst or eptopic pregnancy? The paper I have says for them to send the results back to my doctor, but I didn't know if they saw something, if they could possibly tell me.

By law, they are not allowed to tell you because they don't have an MD behind their name. Sometimes if they are nice and it is something small like a cyst on your ovary they will tell you. The radiologist will not even see you, they have techs do the ultrasound. Once the exam is done, the radiologist looks at it, makes a dictation and sends a report to your doctor which usually takes 1-2 days.

I've had to have these scans - I make sure I tilt my head round to see the screen and ask things like "Can you see anything?", they always turn the screen round so I can see my insides (!), not that I can actually make out what's what, but they'll point to various bits and tell me whats there.

I have PCOS and they showed me on screen my healthy ovary and my cyst-covered ovary so I knew what was going on.
