Contraceptive implant..getting it removed, only 2 months in! will they let me?!
Question: I have had the contraceptive implant just over 2 months now. It is supposed to stay for 3 years but I desperatly want it removed due to the side effects. Depression etc.... I have heard that they try to avoid people having it removed and just say 'it will get better..bla bla bla..' Is it that difficult? Im desperate!!!!

Its up to you, yes they will tell you to leave it in, I went in today because I got mine removed and they were trying to tell me that the side effects that I was having werent related to the IUD but I know they were, so I just told them remove it I dont want it, and they did, they cannot force you to keep it in.
just insist you want it out and they should do it best of luck i stuck the coil for 3 yrs and got it out it did nothing for me
I had mine taken out after a year which they were funny about ... I said to them that it was making my deepression worse jus make out its affecting your health, I hated it to and the side affetcs dont go away and your periods will be all over the place you can come on on a night out which is not an attractive look lol :0( xx
Obviously they will try to convince you to keep it in there, but it is your body and they cannot refuse you a removal if you stick to your guns about this
It is your body so of course they will let you.
I had the coil put in and taken out loads, but it is my choice and not theirs, they can't force you to keep it in especially if you are not happy with it.
They might lecture you on how expensive these things are and you shouldn't mess them around, but make sure you really play on the side affects and stand your ground, let them suggest something that has less side affects xxxx
