I've been thinking about joining Curves gym. Can you tell me your experience!

Question: It's great if you give it your all and pair it up with diet as well. you can go more times a week than they reccomend too after you're used to it.
Careful of the chit chatties. That's what I call the ladied that only go to do 1/2 a$$ excersize and chat too much.
It's easy to mirror what everyone else is doing on the cardio pads but you know what needs to be done to work up a sweat. You go girl!

oh it's great :] i lost 50 lbs so far and i'm still going strong!

but more than that, i feel stronger, healthier, and happier every day!

I was a member of Curves for probably about 4 months. I really enjoyed the workouts at first and felt like they were doing some real good. Unfortunately, over time they became very mundane and boring to me which led me to stop going and eventually cancel my membership.

I had a terrible experience. Every time I went the ladies working out gossiped about other members or celebrities (in such a harsh way) and I never felt like I got a good work out. I started running instead (even though I've always hated it) and found that it did so much more for my body and now I love it. Also, the Curves I went to continued to charge my account after I sent a letter requesting my membership be cancelled (that is a requirement). I had a bad one, and you may find an awesome one, but the workout is what you are there for and for me, I got tired of it really quick. I also found very quickly I was one of the youngest members (I was 22 at the time) and some ladies weren't too friendly to me (I thought perhaps age) even when I tried to chat with them.

I joined the YMCA in my town and would highly recommend it if you have a nice one in yours. Ours is brand new and the classes are awesome! 24 hour fitness/Anytime fitness is also a great deal becuase you can work out anytime! Curves will often close at 6-7:30 and not open until 8am. That's not very convenient for a working woman!

I don't want to bash all Curves though, my mom goes in Florida and loves it!!
