Two periods this month???!

Question: I am on Yaz birth control and have been for about a year. My periods are very regular. I always start when I am supposed to. I had my period less than two weeks ago and now I am having another one. It is also very dark, almost black in color. Has anyone ever had two periods in one month? If so why?

Yes I've had that happen even when I wasn't on Yaz. Sometimes your body gets weird. If it keeps happening then I'd go back to the doctor.

i dont no

no it never happened to me! u should go ask a doctor

Sometimes this can be from taking the pill off schedule. Don't worry unless it continues, that could be the sign of an infection or your birth control losing it's effectiveness due to your body changing.

This shouldnt be happening on birth control. You should go to your endocrinologist.

I would schedule an appointment with you Dr ASAP. Seriously

did you mess up your pill at all? that could be it

but i think youre fine.. when a period is really dark its normally because its been in there for a while... so my guess is that you had your normal period and then 2 weeks later youre having a little more come out because your normal period didnt come out all the way-- in the simplist explanation

you shouldnt worry as long as youre not sexually active... if you are, i would go to the doctor if next time youre supposed to get your period, it doest come.......... and same with if youre not sexuall active; if it doesnt come next REAL period, then go see your doctor

:)

i have had two in one month. it was at the beggining of the month and then one at the end of the month. thats just a way of it regulating itself. i dont know about the discoloration- you should get that checked out!

well i had two periods nd i ended up preggo.

so yeah. if u missed a day, took ur pill an hour late anything.. and had unpretected sex there are cases when the woman became preg.

also my sister is on yaz, she didnt get a period twice but she spots sometimes in between.

birth control just does that to you,

again though, there could b a medical issue i'd call you gyno and ask them. thats always the best way to go.

That is NOT a period. Go to your doctor immediately.

Normally, birth control can cause your period to become irregular. I have endometriosis and I was given the depo shot, (deprovara- birth control) to regulate my period, and I bleed for 3 months straight...and it was also black in color! Don't worry, you may be be having what is called break through bleeding...the birth control may be causing the unusual period......if you are very concerned contact your physician and ask more questions about the medication you are taking...

i have had two periods in one month but its usually when i drink or eat acid like lemons or limes & oranges....my mom says its because the acid cuts out your period it gives it a break so after a few days it comes back.

Hello: All the answers are pretty good, One thing the you might want to consider when we are stress, overwhelmed going through crisis having many bad day in a month our bodies tend to react that way even on any birth control it happened to me lots of time. Study and ask you self some questions about emotion and things/issues you might of under estimated that are affecting you this way , Other than that lets hope u didn't miss the pill and became prego. Good luck

Please see your dr. as soon as possible...I do not know your age...but the pill can be dangerous after prolonged use...and the dr. may need to change your pill...to a lower dosage pill etc. etc. also you want a complete gyno checkup...it could be you may need a d&c.....not serious, but may be needed. Since the color was so dark...it is even possible you had a large clot that just came out....from your actual cycle. Hope I helped anly so much a person can say on here...but please make your apt.
