I wouldn't necessarily be worried right now because it is normal to have irregular periods for the first couple of years. I know that I am the same way and have been since I first got my period. I am 20 years old and have times when I only get my period 3 times a year. Other times I get my period and it last for two weeks, goes away, then comes back 5 days later for another week. All the doctors I have talked to, said that as long as I don't start feeling ill/weak then I should be ok. My sister is the same way as you and she takes birth control pills to help regulate her cycle. If this is something that is concerning you then you should talk to your doctor. Everyones body is different and your doctor may be able to suggest a way to help you become regulated. Because you only started your period 2 years ago I would give it another 6 months to a year to see if your body adjusts itself.

depend maybe you can discuss this with your mother and tell her that it makes you uncomfortable shell be able to resolve it mothers always no what to do

It's normal to be irregular for the first several years and sometimes all through teenage years, however it might not hurt to visit a doctor to see if there is a cause for your irregularity.

It could be that your body fat percentage is too low.

for some people its normal. it is for me. and i've been checked by a doctor. and i was still able to have a kid. let your doctor know next time you get your pap. and if everything is normal....be thankful.

go to your gyn doctor and get it checked out they will probably put you on birth control only to regulate your periods

There are a couple solutions - the most common is to just wait, but you've been doing that. Its common to go a couple years before you really become stable. Overall, if its already been two years, your doctor will probably want to start you on birth control - not specifically to prevent pregnancy, but for its side effect - extremely regular periods. That usually gets you on track for a more normal cycle.

It will regulate on its own with time. You have only had it for 2 years, some women take longer to regulate than others. Some women don't ever have regular periods. If in a few more years you still are not regular, you can visit the OB/GYN and get put on birth control, it regulates your period. If you are athletic, most people who are active in sports almost never have periods. Don't worry, you rae normal.

you are either too skinny. Maybe you lost or gained a lot of weight also. You should definately see a gyno about going on the pill. it would just be easier for you. You won't have to worry about when you will get it.

You should consult your doctor immediately about your problem.

i was the same exact way!

i'm 31 now & i have been regular for a while now but when i got my period at age 14 i was very irregular. since i was pretty skinny the doctor wasn't concerned, appareently skinny girls or people w/low body fat (like, for instance, a gymnast) sometimes do not get it every month.

in time i began to regulate & now i always egt it every month. my cramps are worse too now. i wish i only had it every couple months again.....

Consider yourself lucky! LoL
I first got my pd at 11, but only got it every 6 -8 months or so up until I was 19, then I would get it it every 4 or 5 months. My pd never came regularly until after I had my first child at 24.

I used to get very bad cramps b/c the uterine buildup after 8 months was very thick, so my mom brought me to the OB/GYN when I was 15 to make sure everything was OK. They put me on the pill so that my pds would be more regular and less painful. I didn't stay on it for long though, b/c the pill makes me nuts!

I would ask your mom to make an appointment with the Dr. just to check you out, but I'm sure you're just fine.
