When you switch brands of birth control pill, do you always have to run the two !

Question: If I do run two packs together, Im going on a school trip, sunday-wednesday, and if I have to run two packs together, Ill take my last active pill the day before I leave, and I reaaallllly don't want to start on the trip because I always leak through my pajamas the first night. I cant even skip the week off and run another pack together because Im on the pill to regulate my period so I dont think I can mess with it.
Please help Im worried!!
Normally if I take the last active pill on saturday, I get my period wednesday evening, but what if I get it earlier on this new type? I dont have any periods between now and then to find out!!
What can I do? Could I take the last pill on sunday insted of saturday to try and delay it? (Im not for sex, so I dont need to worry about the effectivenss of it) Or how can I not leak through to these beds???

If your last active pill is the Saturday before you leave, you should have a week of inactive pills (or lower-dose pills) left. You get your period during this inactive week. You'd need to take those next week, and start the new pack after that. You won't even be taking your new kind on the trip.

Don't skip Saturday's pill. You may wind up getting your period earlier than you'd expect if you confuse your body.

Wear a pad to bed - you can get overnight extra-long pads -each night of your trip if you're worried. If you use tampons, you could even combine a tampon with a pad to protect your clothes. Just be sure to change the tampon every 6 hours or so.

Good luck! I think with the extra protection, you'll be just fine.

Edit: I saw your comments about not having inactive pills and taking the packs together. It's a gamble at that point and you might have some spotting. If you start the second pack immediately, you're not going to help regulate your body - you're going to confuse it. I'd call the doctor and explain the situation. Perhaps you misunderstood his directions?

yes you can take one pack after the other but will will need to have your free 7 day period after the second packet. It is quite common if you go on holiday and you don't want to have your monthly, then you can do it. It isn't advisable to do it on a regular basis, it doesn't help your monthlys in the long run.

dont run the packs together that will mess you up worse

just change yourself right before bed and use an overnight pad with another pad

Did you get DOCTOR approval to skip the placebo pills?

If not you should do so now. Don't do it because Sally Jane says you can. These are prescription drugs and you should not mess with them without doctor approval.

You may end up still getting your period. You have a 50/50 chance of still getting it.

Talk to your doctor, and follow his/her advice.
