My period is quite HEAVY...lots of leaks - I'm worried...?!

Question: I've been having it for 6 years almost, now, and it's not regular. It happens sometimes twice a month, sometimes once in three months...
And whenever it does, it goes on for like more than a week. And it's really heavy. Inspite of using two pads kept side by side and a tampon (all at the same time), it soaks all of them and leaks out and it's really embarrasing!
And at night, it leaks out fully and soaks the sheets and stuff like that. I visited a doctor...he said that nothing's wrong.
And when I have it, it doesn't exactly hurt, but I feel really sick, and sometimes I feel light-headed. Once, I just stretched, and then it went dim just for a second and there was this funny noise in my ears...then it stopped (I didn't fall or anything, just felt really weird). It hasn't happened ever since.
It's really embarrasing, and everyone in school comes to know when I have it.
So please could you tell me some ways to deal with heavy bleeding? Thanks a lot!

you poor grrl... Mine was just like that... to the point where i was in bed for days .... i was so sick feeling... I used to have it 3 weeks outta a mth and it was so heavy it was gross...i know how you feel completely ... it is embarrassing... I went on birth control ... it helped regulate my period ... it only last 5-7 days a week and its not as heavy as it used to be... just because your on the pill it doesnt mean you have to have sex... I'd recommend you didnt until your ready...

it's normal to have heavy leaks.
but for the light headed part, you should try taking iron pills, because you are loosing too much iron during your period. you can get these at costco or any drug store.

Have you talked to your OBGYN? I think birth control could help you a lot. It seems as if your period is already unregulated. Birth control can help that and also help your blood flow. You should definitely consider speaking with your OBGYN.

This is totally normal. Bananas help me when I'm on my period. They seem to settle my stomach. I forgot what they are called, but I think you can buy pills that help ease period symptoms. Look around online, and you will probably find them. I hope this helps, and good luck! :)

Taking the pill would help you loads it did me, I know exactly how you feel! Ask for a female doctor if you're embarrased it wouldn't be a problem, talk to the doc tell her everything, sounds like your losing so much its affecting your health which isn't good. Try taking iron tablets aswell it should help replace what you lose every month and stop the light-headedness. Good luck!

If your doc says nothing is wrong, I would seek a second opinion. See an OB-GYN. Good luck!!

Maybe you could be put on birth control to regulate your period. It will make your periods MUCH lighter. I think you're feeling light headed because you're loosing to much iron. Maybe try taking an iron supplement.

Try going to a GYN, and make sure they listen to you. Tell thenm what's going on.

how about using A menstrual cup as they are supposed to catch as much blood as 2 super plus tampons can absorb so maybe that will help with the heaviness
ok with when you feel sick you should probably talk to your gyn about it but i cant think of anything else at the moment so...
oh if you dont know what menstrual cups are google them when i first heard of them i had to!!!

oh yh wear overnight pads it might help? maybe?
