yes, this usually happens BEFORE the actual period comes. its the discharge that happens exactly before the period, it can keep happening everytime your about to get your period, its like a 'sign' that its coming.

you probably did, the first time you get it it is sort of brownish. it also can get thet way after your period is over. it goes from red to brown

You probably did. Period blood smell has a unique smell, but discharge from an infection has a very bad smell.
