How many days should I weight train?!


Question: I'm a 22 year old woman and I'm really confused about fitness. I need to lose 30 pounds and I was wondering should I weight train two days a week or should I weight train three days a week? And should I do cardio everyday or everyday that I'm not weight training? Should I do cardio for 45 minutes or 60 minutes?

Cardio everyday is great. The time however depends. You want to get your heart rate to around 120 to 125 for about 30 to 45 mins. You can weight train everyday if you want but do different areas. Ex. monday work your arms shoulders. Tuesday, legs. Wed. chest and stomach. Thurs arms, friday legs, Sat chest and stomach. Sunday, take a break. Cardio everyday if you want

You should weight train every other day at the most
If you want to exercise everyday you need to rotate your exercises so you are not exercising the same muscles more than every other day.

I do weight training monday, weds, and Fri and cardio on Tues, and Thurs. I keep the workouts at about 60 mins. and it works out pretty good for me but I am male if that makes any difference.

I weight train 4 days a week. I do arms and chest twice a week and legs and back twice a week. The thing to remember is that the muscles need about 36 hours to recover from a hard workout. I also run for 40 minutes 3 days a week.
