Where do you purchase morning after pills?!

Question: and exactly how many times do you take them? i know the basic concept of it, but i need to know more...i'm considering buying some. since birth control requires a prescription, i'm hoping morning after don't and i can just buy them at a store nearby. i don't want to go through the process of getting a prescription. so do morning after pills work just as good as birth control?

You actually can get free unprescribed birth control pills through a local women's clinic or local planet parenthood. Look it up =)

And about the morning after pills. You can buy them over the counter by the pharmacy at your local drug store. However you have to be at least 18 or 21 to purchase, depending on where you live. They are expensive though, like $40 per pack.

Good luck hon =D

go to your doctor or your local womens clinic, they'll explain everything to you

i was in your position years ago, id just had a baby and thought i was pregnant, my doc gave me the normal pill and i had to take 6 pills all at once, and done this for a few days, it made me feel sick, but it worked!

You can get birth control at your local family planning clinic for about $20/month, or have a doc write a rx for a generic brand and they are still relatively inexpensive. But I recommend that more than the morning after pill, which I am not sure if it would be safe to take frequently, and is more expensive. Good luck.

you are not supposed to take morning after regularly. they are for emergencies only so the most they should be taken is twice a year. i paid $40 for mine and got them at a drug store. You could also try and get them at planned parenthood and they would be a lot cheaper maybe even free.

Planned Parenthood would give u morning after pills. It will cost money, and u can usually work out some kind of payment plans

Morning-after pills are available without a prescription, because they are for emergencies. Emergencies happen when doctors' offices are closed.

They are also MORE expensive and LESS effective than regular birth control pills. That's why they are only for emergencies, not your primary method of birth control.

Birth control pills are 99% effective, meaning a one in 100 chance of pregnancy when used correctly.

Condoms, when properly used, are 98% effective, which means a two out of a hundred chance of pregnancy, which reduces to a one in fifty chance of pregnancy. Improperly used is another matter, in fact it's condom failure that causes most girls to run out and buy the morning-after pill.

The morning-after pill itself is only 89% effective. Let's round it up to ninety percent. That's ten chances out of a hundred to get pregnant anyway. In other words, one in ten.

That's why it is not good to depend on for regular contraceptive puroses. It's just not that good. It's better than nothing after unprotected sex or sexual assault, but that's about all it's better than.

It also has some unpleasant side effects.

If you don't think your health and peace of mind are worth a visit to a doctor, make your boyfriend wear condoms, and use a spermicide.
