Advice about type of birth control?!

I used the ring for about a year.
It was very effective.
The best thing that I liked about it was that my periods decreased in flow and sometimes were virtually non existant.
I had a couple of problems with it.
I am a migraine sufferer and it increased my amount of migraines.
My doctor had me wear mine all the time no lag time between periods because of my migraines, because of this when I was on my period it would get caught on my tampons when I would remove it and come out, without my knowledge.
It was very uncomfortable durring intercourse, but, you can take it out durring that time and still be protected as long as you replace it within 3 hours.
Sometimes it would come out on its own. So I would have to check it often.
Other than my migraines it worked great for me, as I can not take BC pills because they mess with my hormones to much.
The biggest problem that I have had is getting pregnant after stopping the ring. been trying for a year and still nothing.
What should I avoid while using ethinyl estradiol and etonogestrel?
Do not smoke while using this medication, especially if you are older than 35. Smoking can increase your risk of blood clots, stroke, or heart attack caused by birth control pills.
Ethinyl estradiol and etonogestrel will not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases--including HIV and AIDS. Using a condom is the only way to protect yourself from these diseases.
While using the ethinyl estradiol and etonogestrel vaginal ring, do not use a diaphragm as back-up birth control. The vaginal ring may interfere with the correct placement and position of the diaphragm
Vaginal lubricants, spermicides, and yeast infection treatments should not affect the vaginal ring. However, talk to your doctor before using other vaginal products while using the ethinyl estradiol and etonogestrel vaginal ring.
Ethinyl estradiol and etonogestrel side effects
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop using this medication and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:
sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body;
sudden headache, confusion, pain behind the eyes, problems with vision, speech, or balance;
chest pain or heavy feeling, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, nausea, sweating, general ill feeling;
a change in the pattern or severity of migraine headaches;
nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet;
a breast lump; or
symptoms of depression (sleep problems, weakness, mood changes).
Less serious side effects may include:
mild nausea, vomiting, bloating, stomach cramps;
breast pain, tenderness, or swelling;
freckles or darkening of facial skin;
The NuvaRing is as effective as the Pill if it's used correctly--99%. It emits a lower dose of hormones than the Pill, so it's less likely to cause side effects.
