How long after stopping birth control will my yeast infection go away?!

Question: 1 1/2 months after starting birth control (BC) I got a yeast infection. I've had it for over six months now. My boyfriend has no symptoms of an infection. I stopped taking BC approximately 2 months ago but my infection is still there. I've taking apo-fluconazole 150 mg a couple of times and it does not work. I'm also taking Bio-k capsules. I really don't know what else to do!! :-( Any feedback would be appreciated.

If you have yeast in your body, it can be controled by diet. Yeast feeds on carbs and sugar. So eat healthy and it will help starve the yeast. Also, I don't know how strong the correlation with the birth control "causing" the yeast infection is, however you are definatley right, it can screw up your body. Your body undergo's a lot of changes when you get on birth control, with all the new hormone levels etc. If your body is working hard to try and balance the hormones, than it cannot work on building the immune system. Therefore, the yeast infection flaired up.

Why would your birth control have anything to do with your yeas infection?

Souns like you need to speak with your doctor.

Try over the counter yeast infection creams, the 7 day ones tend to be the most effective. The doctor can also prescribe a pill that you take once or twice that gets rid of yeast infections.

The yeast infection and birth control are unrelated.
Apo just helps the symptoms it doesnt take the infection away. It is mostly for Urinary Tract infections not yeast infections. You need to try something like Monistat or go to the doctor.

are you positive its a yeast infection? What symptoms are you having? If its a fishy smell its not a yeast infection is bacterial vaginosis many women confuse it with a yeast infection. But your birth control and a yeast infection have nothing to do with each other. I really think that you need to see a Dr to get this cleared up and if you are still having sex I would get back on that birth control if I were you.

You need to get treated by a doctor. A yeast infection that lasts that long needs treatment. Also, men can have a yeast infection without symptoms, so if you've had sex with him since having the infection, he needs to get checked out by a doctor as well. Birth control shouldn't cause a yeast infection. And stopping birth control will not make it go away.

Its not the birth control that is causing the yeast infection. You could be getting rid of the infection but then they are coming back. Yeast infections can be caused by not wiping down there properly when you go to the toilet or when you have sex. Go to the chemist and get another thrush treatment. When going to the toilet always wipe from back to front, as germs from the anus can cause yeast infections. Be careful about the soaps that you wash down there with as they body there has a P.H level that it is really sensitive about keeping it the same.
