Pap Smear Trouble?!

Question: I haven't had my period in 3 months now and NO I am not pregnant. Anyways I'm going to the doctor today to get it checked out but I was just informed that my insurance only covers 1 pap smear a year and I have already had one so is there anything they can do other than that to try and figure out what is going on?

Get a blood test first. Maybe you're low on iron? Have you lost weight recently? Could be a vitamin deficiency. Have hormone levels checked as well. May as well rule out eveything that doesn't cost you first.

Well first what is your age, if you have recently begun your periods they can be erratic. If you are extremely thin that can also cause a problem.

The other choice is to just pay for it. A Pap is probably not even required. It tests the irregularity of the cells of your cervix. The ovaries and Uterus are what control your periods.

They can do a vaginal culture and wet mount without doing a full pap, which is probably what they're going to do. I have had 2 in the past year after I already had a pap.

Have the doctor code it as some sort of problem since it is insurance will pay for , since you are not there for a normal pap smear my wife has had to have them code things like that before.
