Question: I've been told there are contacts that you can wear while you sleep that improve eyesight?
my mom has decided to take my younger brother to the specialist who ...sells? these contacts..is this a scam? has anyone tried it?
Answers:
No, it's not a scam. They're crt lenses http://www.paragoncrt.com/consumers/pat_…

I worked for a doc who did the fittings for these types of lenses. It is called CRT. Think about it like a retainer for your eyes, which gently reshapes the cornea while you wear them. You do need to continue the therapy as directed by your doctor for best results. As long as you go to a good, certified specialist, it will be a great outcome. It is expensive up-front, but a good investment (and depending on how you treat glasses/contacts, can come out about even in cost over time)
They do have such contacts, however, they do NOT permanently fix your eyes. It is not like, after wearing them for a while, your eyes are "cured"and you vision is perfect forever. If you stop the regimen of wearing them, your eyes will revert back to whatever vision you used to have.
I've never heard of anything like that before. o_o
Before your mom takes him to a specialist, I'd call eye doctors and ask them about it before necessarily making and appointment and having to pay for it.
