How much is -6.0 degrees?!
Question: How much is -6.0 degrees?
Answers:
- 6.00 is 6 diopters , not degrees.
It would be the same as 600 degrees , but has the decimal, so it isn't in degrees.
Some countries somewhere write prescriptions in degrees, without the decimals, but most countries use the diopter as the measurement of the power.
I saw your first question.....- 6.50 in your glasses but - 6.00 in your contacts is correct , that is right. Go back and see explanation in the first question.

the 'degrees' is a very very old layman's term... it's not used to measure glasses powers, but only the ANGLE or axis of astigmatism.
I'm assuming that you're MYOPIC (short-sighted)... and your power is -6.00 DIOPTRES.
A dioptre is a unit of measurement of Focusing Power... its SI unit is m^(-1) or 1/m (or per metre).
-6.00 dioptre is bad, but not terribly bad... you would have to use your glasses all the time coz the farthest you can see without your glasses is abour 16cm. (1/6.00) m
Focal Length = 1 / Power
