how will eye doctors remove stuck contact lens? does it hurt?!

Question: How will eye doctors remove stuck contact lens? does it hurt?
how will eye doctors take out stuck contact lens? does it hurt?

my contacts have been stuck in my eye for 11hrs..... i stayed up all night so that it wont hurt as much as sleeping. the contacts are in place, i can see exactly right but it cant move.

my mum is bringing me to the eye doctor, but i want to know if it hurts when they remove it. how do they remove it?

Answers:

They will put some drops in your eyes to help loosen the adhesion of the lens to your eye. Most of the time we will then just remove it with our fingers, like you normally do. The patient usually gives a great sigh of relief after the lens is removed. If the lens should happen to tear the outer layer (epithelium) of your cornea/conjunctiva, you will feel some pain when/after it is removed. If that is the case you will probably get some antibiotic drops to put in for a few days.

they will not tear any epithelium.

put drops in...remove it. they've done it hundreds of times. i've done it thousands. it does not hurt.

next time just sleep in them instead of staying up all night. i do not advocate sleeping in contacts all night every night, but in your case you should have just slept the 1 night.

were you not trained on how to remove them? or did you just forget or have difficulty?
