How do you know when you really don't need new glasses?!
Question: How do you know when you really don't need new glasses?
Answers:
Opticians do occasionally get teh perscription wrong. If you can't see properly with these glasses then say so and give the optician chance to sort it out. Often they will. This is the opticians responsibility if they did your perscription and you ordered the glasses through them. I'm not sure you need ask any specific questions - just point out that the new glasses are not fit for purpose. If you don't get any satisfaction ask them for a copy of the perscription they have given you and your old perscription. Then go to another opticians for a second opinion. If necessary there will be some type of authority you can complain to.
It's very likely that your visual field is blurry with bifocals. I always buy progressives but only when the optometrist tells me that it would definately be to my advantage to go to a higher power lens. My advice is to go ahead and buy progressives. They always cost more but you will adapt to them immediately. The line in bifocals is bothersome and gives me headaches. Best of luck.
