How can I get glasses???????!

Question: How can I get glasses???????
Hi. I want to get glasses however I have no eye condition of any sort. I don't want any "don't do it! you will injure yourself! blah blah blah" there is a reason for why i want glasses however it's personal and i'm not gonna say it over the internet. So what i'm actually asking is how can I cause myself eye injury?

Answers:

If you have no vision problems and just want glasses as a sort of fashion accessory, you can order glasses with plano lenses (no power) on any of the on-line eye glasses sites. You don't need a prescription for them since they don't correct anything. They also sell fake glasses at some stores (these are NOT the same as reading glasses!!).

The problem is, if you really want to wear "real" glasses (IE glasses with lenses that actually look like they do something) and your vision is perfect, it gets more complicated.

You can't truly "make your self nearsighted" (reading in the dark, sitting close to the TV, etc does not cause this). If you get a hold of some old glasses and try to wear them, you will most likely, not be able to see very well, if at all, and just give your self headaches.

However, some people who are really into glasses do something called "glasses over contacts". They select suitable - power glasses they want to wear and then wear the appropriate strength + power contacts under the glasses to bring them back to normal vision. The net effect is, it allows a person with normal vision to wear glasses with real (even really strong) lenses, and still be able to see (more or less). They sometimes do this in movies when a character needs to be wearing glasses, but has perfect vision. If the glasses and contacts are properly matched, it shouldn't hurt your eyes and you can go back to whatever your normal vision used to be at any time (IE no need to wreck your vision). The thing is, I don't know what opticians would handle such an odd request even though it isn't anything illegal or dangerous and certainly no more freaky than getting a tattoo of barbed wire around your neck or having a face full of piercings. The online glasses site www.optical4less.com has a section where they sort of imply they assist in this sort of thing, I think it was called special glasses or something like that. I can't make any guarantees.

for non-medical purposes, go get glasses without prescription. while you're at that, you should get glasses with uv protection so you're protected from the sun's harmful rays.

on a side note, you should go to an eye exam to see if you need any prescription glasses. some people think they don't need glasses because they don't have any eye conditions, but eye health goes beyond a 20/20 vision. either way, you can get your glasses.

I personally would not recommend giving yourself an eye injury. My friend in 6th grade thought the same as you. She asked her parents to take her to the local drugstore, and while her parents looked around, she purchased fake glasses. If you would like, ask your parent(s) to take you to the local optical dispensary. Here you will have a much larger selection of frames and are able to get customized to fit you.

Wal-mart & costo have non perscreption glasses...even the dollar store does.

however,
i myself wear glasses and ALWAYS wanted them...eventually my eyes got damaged. it is quite irritating when i cant even see a clock from a few feet away or a chalkboard...just re think this through. it is actually a big pain. and perminent! unless you get eye surgery which is thousands of dollars... good luck! :)

sit really close to the tv or the computer for a while that will mess with ur vision, and make your eyes bad. Cause i use to have 20/20 and i'm always on the computer and now i have glasses becuase of it...

You can buy glasses without a prescription at Wal-mart or any other drug store. They're not real fancy ones but you get what you pay for. They have racks of them.

You can purchase glasses with lenses that have no corrective power. Just go to an optician.

If there is a Costco in your area, see if they have an Optical Department. If so, go get an eye exam to see if you really need glasses.

The HEllz wrong wit you BOi

You need to see a mental health doctor.
