How to improve eyesight ?!

Question: How to improve eyesight ?
Hi, I was wondering. How can i improve my eyesight Without any Surgery or Medication? Im 12 year's old. Im starting to see blurry in long distance. And my eyes are dry. I think its because im on the computer to long. I sit about 4-5 hours staring on the laptop without brake.
Im afraid to get glasses because ive heard they make your eyesight worse. Is there any kind of food i can eat or exercises i can do for my eyes ? Please im afraid of it getting worse.
Yeah i know i should go outside and play and stuff. But i dont have lots of friends. They are always busy. Plus its winter here. i hate the cold i pretty much spend my day inside.

Carrots! Or anything that is a good source of Vitamin A.

I don't know if exercises or any of that really help, so focus on eating foods with lots of Vitamin A (aka carrots)

:)

Probably the worse thing you can do is sit in front of a computer 4-5 hours per day without a break. Give your eyes a break every 30 minutes by looking at something far away, preferably out a window.
You can also exercise your eyes by taking something like a postage stamp or small 1 x1 inch sticky and putting it on a window. Stand about 1-2 feet away and alternately look at the stamp for a few seconds then out the window few seconds then repeat for a minute. Its like doing push-ups for your eyes.

Unfortunately, you are at the age where growth spurts happen and with growth spurts our eyes change. There are no proven exercises or foods that will improve your vision. There are ways to slow down the progression of your eyes getting worse. First of all, if you haven't had an eye exam, you need one from an actual doctor. Secondly, taking a break at least every hour will help. If your eyes feel dry (which tends to happen when staring at computer for long periods of time) you want to use lubricating drops like Systane Ultra or Refresh Tears (not Visine or Clear eyes, those will make eyes dryer long term). Hope this helps and if you do need glasses and don't like to wear them, you can always try Contacts!

Wearing glasses or contacts is your only other option. They don't make your eyesight worse if you wear the right strength.

You can also use drops or ophtalmic ointment for dry eyes.

Eat carrots, you never see a rabbit wearing glasses. :P

Scientific studies show no evidence that computers damage your eyes. If they did then all computer professionals would have problems with their eyesight and be suing their companies. computer professionals work on screens far longer than this.

It is a myth that glasses make your eyesight worse. All they do is help you see properly. With eyesight its about teh shape of your eyeball. How can glasses affect that ? As you grow the problem shows and it does tend to get worse until you are in your 20's.

Scientific studies show no evidence that exercises/eating particular foods help. Mostly those recommending these things get money from you following their advice. do not be afraid to get glasses. Contacts are also an option.

Dry eyes are a result of computer overuse. Make sure you drink enough water and try to blink frequently. Eyes dry when using the computer because peopel don't blink as much.
