Would this small contact lens change be a problem?!

Question: Would this small contact lens change be a problem?
I wear contact lens by Avaira with BC of 8.5 and DIA for 14.2. For Acuvue, what I have available to buy is BC of 8.8 and DIA of 14. I cannot get any other size where I am getting it from. Are these small differences a problem?

Those are small differences that are unlikely to cause a problem. The diameter is not an issue. The base curve being slightly off might cause the contacts to pop out more easily and will give less than perfect visual correction, but 8.5 and 8.5 are not that different.

Yes, that would be a problem. It would be like buying a size XL shirt when the size you normally buy is a Small. Those lenses are not going to fit your eye. Any reputable contact lens seller will only sell you exactly what the doctor has written on your prescription. If size didn't matter as far as contacts go, doctors wouldn't go through the trouble of doing extra testing to measure the eye.

apart from the fact that fit is important to the health of your eyes , if a site will sell you lenses which aren't the same as teh perscription then they are behaving illegally in both the US adn UK. If they are prepared to do that what other things may they be doing which are illegal and dangerous?
